I am a chemical physicist by training, interested in technologies of the future. Currently, I work as a Product Manager at Nu Quantum, a quantum networking startup building the hardware infrastructure essential to scaling quantum computers.
I carried out my PhD research at the Quantum Optical Materials and Systems group at the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, specialising in new material platforms for light-based quantum technologies and nanoscale sensing. Previously, I completed a Master of Research in Nanotechnology at the University of Cambridge and a Master of Chemical Physics with Honours at the University of Edinburgh, and have an interdisciplinary research background in materials science and nanotechnology.
Beyond research, I have worked as a freelance writer and broadcaster covering science and technology for radio, podcasts, and magazines. During my PhD I was awarded the SPIE DJ Lovell Scholarship by the International Society of Optics and Photonics (2021) and shortlisted for the Institute of Physics’ Early Career Communicators Prize (2024).
